Annual Lakshadeepotsava commences at Udupi Sri Krishna Matha
Udupi, Nov 05, 2022: The grand Lakshadeepotsava commenced at Udupi Sri Krishna Matha today.
Lakshadeepotsava is held for four days from Uthana Dwadashi till Poornima of Karthika Masa.
Paryaya Peetadhipathi Sri Vidyasagara Tirtha Sripadaru offered Tulasi Pooja in the morning and ‘Ksheerabdhi,’ in the middle of Madhva Sarovara.
After Charama Seve by the Paryaya Peetadhipati, Teepotsava was held. Later the Utsava Moorthi of Sri Krishna and Sri Mukhyaprana were taken in the procession in the ‘Garuda Ratha.’ The Utsava Moorthi of Sri Chandramauleeshwara and Sri Anantheshwara were on the small chariot.
Ksheerabdhi
On the occasion of Uthana Dwadashi, Asta Matha Swamijis offered ‘Ksheerabhi,’ at the Mantapa in Madhva Sarovara on Saturday evening.
Sri Vidyarajeshwara Tirtha (Palimaru matha), Sri Eeshapriya Tirtha (Adamaru Matha) Sri Vidyavallabha Tirtha (Kaniyooru Matha), Sri Vishwaprasanna Tirtha (Pejawara Matha) Sri Vidyadhisha Tirtha (Palimaru matha senior pontiff), and Paryaya Peetadhipathi Sri Vidyasagara offered Ksheerabdhi.
Ksheerabdhi marks the awakening of Sri Vishnu from his four-month ‘Yoga Nidra.’
The Nityotsava of Sri Krishna commences today and will continue till Bhagirathi Jayanthi (usually in June).
