Monthly meeting of Karwar Taluk Panchayat held
Karwar, Aug 29, 2022: Karwar Taluk Panchayat Administrator Somashekhara Mesta has instructed the officials to complete all the pending works under the 15th Finance commission.
Of the 45 works, 38 are in progress. The Administrator set Sept 15 as the deadline to complete all the work.
He was presiding over the monthly progress review meeting at Taluk Panchayat hall here on Monday.
Mesta asked the officials to inspect the works of school toilets and compounds and provide information.
Out of the total 415 applications for scholarships in the social welfare department in the current year, 412 applications have been approved and 3 applications are pending due to non-seeding of Aadhaar. The social welfare officials assured to approve them immediately.
The administrator asked the officials to check whether food grains are being distributed properly in all the fair price shops in the taluk and take appropriate action against those who are found selling the free rice. The Akshara Dasoha department officials were asked to check check if milk and eggs are being distributed properly to school children.
As paddy cultivation has seen a downward trend in the Taluk, he instructed the agriculture department officials to inspect and appoint officials to apprise the farmers about paddy cultivation.
Fruit saplings will be distributed to farmers by the forest department and gas stoves have been distributed to 10 beneficiaries under the SCP and TSP schemes.
The officer asked the officials who did not attend the review meeting to provide a valid reason for not attending the meeting. Officials were also asked to attend the next meeting with proper information.
Karwar Taluk Panchayat Executive Officer Dr. Balappanavara Anandakumar and officials of various departments of the taluk were present.
