Karwar, July 25, 2022: Uttara Kannada district administration has proposed to set up an emergency service center next to the primary health center building at Hattikeri in Ankola Taluk.

Deputy Commissioner Mullai Muhilan held a meeting with the officials of KIMS-Karwar on Monday.

The people of Uttara Kannada have been demanding a multi-specialty hospital in the district. The demand increased after the recent ambulance accident at Shirooru.

The DC visited KIMS Karwar and held a meeting on setting up a super-specialty hospital and an emergency service center in the district. He reviewed the progress of the 450-bed hospital construction work in the medical college and inspected the adjoining site to provide more space for the hospital.   

As land is not available near KIMS- Karwar, the district administration proposes to set up emergency service center at Hattikeri in Ankola. A proposal is connection to this is likely to be submitted to the government.

The meeting was attended by Gajanan Naik, Director, KIMS Karwar, Sharad Naik, District Health and Family Welfare Officer, Hadimani, Chief Executive Officer, KIMS Karwar, and Shivanand Kudtarkar, Medical Superintendent, District Hospital.
