Karwar, June 14, 2022: Red Cross distributed masks to the people of Maski village on Monday.

People including children, elderly persons, and women of Haguramane and Melinagadde of Sirsi Taluk had come all the way to Karwar to submit a memorandum to the Deputy Commissioner.

Noting that many were wearing surgical masks, the Red Cross members led by Red Cross Disaster Management unit Madhav Nayak decided to distribute reusable masks for them.

Red Cross members congratulated the villagers for following Covid norms while coming to the government office.

“With fears of a fourth wave of Covid-19 in the state, the state government has already made it mandatory to wear masks in public places. But many times even the educated are not following these rules. In such a situation, those who came from a remote village showed their responsibility by wearing masks while visiting the government office. People should learn from them,” Madhav Nayak said.

Red Cross district treasurer Rama Naik, leaders Ramesh Gunagi and others distributed masks.
