Spandana-2022 to be held at Saanidhya
Mangaluru, Feb 22, 2022: ‘Spandana-2022’ a state-level conference of Special Teachers and staff will be held at Saanidhya residential school in Mangaluru on Feb 25.
The program is organised by Karnataka Rajya Vikalachetanara Seva Samsthegala Okkuta ®.
The conference will be inaugurated by Karnataka State Sports Authority vice president K P Purushottam. Mangaluru Mayor Premananda Shetty will be the chief guest. Okkuta president H V Gopalappa will preside. Ganesh Seva Trust president Mahabala Marla, Corporators Jagadish Shetty, and Kishore Kottary will be the guests.
“It will be a platform to discuss the various problems faced by the teachers and staff of special schools,” Okkuta General Secretary Vasanth Shetty told reporters.
“The aid marked for the special children should be doubled. The honorarium that the teachers and non-teaching staff are getting is very less. It should be revised based on the 1982 aid. Government should provide the basic facilities at the special schools,” he said.
“A special expert committee should be formed for a uniform syllabus for the special children. The government should also come up with a rehabilitation plan for those special children who are above 25 years,” he added.
