Karnataka withdraws night curfew
Bengaluru, Jan 29, 2022: The state government has decided to withdraw the night curfew with effect from January 31.
An order with regard to this and other containment measures was passed by the state government today.
- The night curfew imposed from 10 pm to 5 am, of next day, in the State is withdrawn, with effect from Jan 31.
- In Bengaluru Urban district, all Schools and College permitted to Re-open from31-01-2022 strictly adhering to COVID-19 Appropriate Behaviour and following SOPs issued by the concerned Department. Schools and colleges shall function as per the assessment of the respective District Administration / BBMP.
- Pubs / Clubs / Restaurants / Bars / Hotels / eating places in Hotel etc., permitted to operate with upto 100% of its seating capacity strictly adhering to COVID Appropriate Behaviour and entry to such places will be restricted to fully vaccinated persons only.
- Cinema halls / Multiplexes / Theatres / Rangamandiras / Auditorium and similar places will continue to function with 50% of its seating capacity strictly adhering to COVID Appropriate Behaviour and entry to such places will be restricted to fully vaccinated persons only.
- Marriage functions are permitted to be conducted involving not more than 300 people in open spaces and 200 people in closed places strictly adhering to COVID 19 Appropriate Behaviour and prevailing guidelines issued by State Government.
- All Government Offices including Government Secretariat will function with 100% staff strength with effect from 31-01-2022.
- Religious places are allowed to open for Darshan and Seva is permitted. Entry of people will be restricted to 50 persons at any given time who are fully vaccinated.
- All Rallies, Dharnas, Congregations, etc ., including social, religious, political protests, procession of any sort are strictly prohibited.
- Swimming pools and Gyms shall operate at 50% capacity but entry will be restricted to fully vaccinated persons.
- Sports complexes and Stadia are allowed to function with 50% capacity.
- It is reiterated that the Chief Commissioner BBMP and Deputy Commissioners of the Districts based on their assessment of the situation may impose additional containment measures as deemed necessary in their jurisdictions.
- The intensive surveillance at the border of Maharashtra, Kerala and Goa states shall continue as per the prevailing circular/guidelines issued by Department of Health and family Welfare, Govt. of Karnataka.
Strict enforcement of the containment measures:
- Chief Commissioner BBMP/Police Commissioners/Deputy Commissioners/ Superintendents of Police Commissioner, BBMP/Deputy Commissioners shall strictly implement the aforementioned containment measures and enforce COVID 19 Appropriate Behaviour issued under the Disaster Management Act, 2005.
- Any person, group of people, Society, Association of persons, Organization, Institutions, RWAs, etc ., violating containment measures and not complying with COVID 19 appropriate behaviour issued vide aforementioned order under the Disaster Management Act, 2005, should be proceeded against as per the provisions of Section 51 to 60 of the Disaster Management Act, 2005 and the Karnataka Epidemic Diseases Act-2020 besides legal action under Section 188 of the IPC, and other legal provisions as applicable.
Further, Order No. RD 157 TNR 2020, dated 04-01-2022, pertaining to sharing of beds in private hospitals and private medical colleges between Government referred and Private patients is modified as below and will come into effect immediately and will be in place until further orders:
The Private Hospitals and Private Medical College Hospitals will reserve and keep ready 10% beds in each category, i.e ., ICU, ICU with Ventilator, HDU/Oxygenated and general beds for treatment of COVID 19 patients referred by the Public Health Authorities.
