Genomic study finds two Covid patients with Omicron variant in Udupi

Udupi, Dec 20, 2021: Udupi district has recorded two Omicron cases.

While one patient is 73 years old, the other one is 82 years. They were among the four in a family who tested Covid positive on December 2. Their samples were sent for genomic study. The report that arrived now has found two elderly persons in the family had Omicron variant.

However, both the patients have already recovered and have no Covid symptoms now.

Dakshina Kannada too reported an Omicron case. The Covid patient was one among the 19 nursing college students who tested Covid positive on December 9. This is the second patient to have had the Omicron variant. The first one was reported two days ago.
