Five more Omicron cases detected in Karnataka
Bengaluru, Dec 16, 2021: Five more Omicron cases have been detected in Karnataka today. With this, the total number has increased to eight.
Of the eight cases, four are pertain to International arrivals from At-Risk countries, three have traveled from Delhi and the remaining one case is related to possible contact with foreigner/ international traveler.
Except for one case, where the international traveler went back to South Africa, the remaining confirmed cases were in institutional isolation (at the hospital) and were treated as per the Government of India protocol.
The current health status of these Omicron-affected patients is good and no one has serious symptoms. It is to be noted that the State is committed to implementing the strategy of rigorous screening and testing of all the International Arrivals from At-Risk countries and follow up on other necessary measures like isolation, quarantine, and repeat RTPCR testing, as per the directives of Health Ministry.
“Hence general public should not heed to unnecessary rumors or speculations leading to panic. At this juncture, it is imperative to realize the importance of Covid Appropriate Behavior (CAB) & follow the same, stay fully vaccinated (with both doses), and get tested for Covid whenever one gets symptoms. We seek the cooperation of the public at large, in consolidating the gains in containing the pandemic situation in the State,” a press statement from the health department stated.
