Covid-19: Govt advisory to educational institutions
Udupi, Nov 28, 2021: In the backdrop of recent clusters of Covid-19 being found at educational institutions in Mysuru, Dharwad, and Bengaluru districts, the state government has issued a fresh advisory on postponing of social, cultural and academic events.
- All students in medical, paramedical, and other such educational institutions should be screened daily for symptoms of Covid 19. And symptomatic should be tested and treated as per the guidelines already issued.
- All social and cultural events in educational institutions may be postponed for two months.
- Conferences, seminars, academic events, etc in educational institutions, wherever possible, may be postponed. Alternatively, it could be conducted in hybrid mode, ie with minimal physical attendance and with more persons attending through virtual mode.
- The heads of educational institutions should take utmost care to ensure Covid Appropriate Behavior (CAB) within the campus especially during the conduct of events if any.
- Health care professionals may also conduct the conference, seminars, CME sessions, etc, virtually for a few more months to send a positive message to professionals in other fields, in the larger interest of public health.
- All the heads of the educational institutions shall ensure vaccination of their students (over 18 years of age) and staff as soon as possible.
