Dr B M Hegde conferred Padma Vibhushan

Udupi, Nov 09, 2021: Former Vice-Chancellor of Manipal Academy Higher Education (MAHE) Dr. B M Hegde was conferred the prestigious Padma Vibhushana Award today.
Dr. Belle Monappa Hegde (B M Hegde) has been conferred Padma Vibhushan for Medicine.

In the award function held at Rastrapathi Bhavan today, Hegde was first on the list to receive the Padma Award.
The Government conferred Padma Award to 119 achievers (7 Padma Vibhushan, 10 Padma Bhushan, and 102 Padma Shri) today. Of these five are from Karnataka.
Dr. Hegde who hails from Belle in Udupi district is a cardiologist, educator, and author.
He had received the Padma Bhushan Award from Pratibha Patil on April 7, 2010. He was then chosen for the Padma Bhushan award under the medical category.
