Uttara Kannada District Civil Contractors Association to stage protest on Oct 27
Karwar, Oct 19, 2021: Demanding the state government to solve their problem, the Uttara Kannada District Civil Contractors Association will organize a massive protest rally on October 27.
A meeting of the Association was held at Kumta APMC Hall today which was presided over by Association President Shyamsundar M Bhat.
The members expressed concern over the works being given to the KRIDL and Nirmithi Kendra. They felt such a move would adversely affect them.
They demanded the government to immediately revise the SR Rate of the works as the price of Cement, Iron, asphalt and other raw materials have seen a steep increase. The government should provide the market rate for the work under progress, the members asked.
Association strongly opposed package tendering of big works in the district and asked the government to release the huge amount of money pending for the contractors.
They also asked the state government to immediately transfer the officials who have overstayed in the same place for several years.
The protest will be held at Karwar on October 27 by the District association. The Civil Contractors Associations of all the Taluks will support this protest.
They will submit a memorandum to the chief minister through the Deputy Commissioner of Uttara Kannada district.
