Month long ‘Paschima Jaagara Pooja’ begins
Udupi, Oct 16, 2021: ‘Paschima Jaagara Pooja,’ a special Pooja offered to Lord Vishnu commenced today.
It is held for one month at Udupi Sri Krishna Matha, Subrahmanya Matha, and other Madhva Mathas between Ashwayuja Masa Ekadashi (today) and Prabodhini Ekadashi (the day before Tulasi Pooja).
At Udupi Sri Krishna Matha, Paryaya Peetadhpathi Sri Eeshapriya Tirtha Sripadaru offered special Pooja to Sri Krishna.
Swamiji offered Koormarathi (The arathi in the shape of Koorma or Tortoise) to Sri Krishna and later to Sri Mukhyaprana (Hanuman), Sri Madhwacharya, and other deities. The lamps lit in the temple premises add flavor to the devotion.
At Kukke Subrahmanya, Sri Vidyaprasanna Tirtha Swamiji offered pooja to Samputa Narasimha and other deities.
“Sri Vishnu gets up from his Yoga Nidra on Uthana Dwadashi. The Paschima Jagara Pooja precedes this event and is held for one month between 4 am and 6 am,” Sri Vidyaprasanna Tirtha Swamiji said.
