Mangaluru, Oct 13, 2021: The Maritime board meeting to be held next week will take major decisions related to the Ports of the state.

Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai told this to the reporters during his visit to Kudrli Sri Gokarnanatha Temple on Wednesday.

“We will have a maritime board meeting next week. Major decisions related to the development of Fishing and Commercial Ports will be taken during the meeting. We will send a DPR to the central government related to the expansion of New Mangalore Port, Karwar Port, and fisheries ports in the state,” he said.

Bommai also hoped that the Central government to give some relaxation in CRZ rules.

“The proposal is before the Central government. We want it to be like Kerala and Goa to help tourism in our state,” he added.

Earlier speaking in Udupi after laying foundation stone for the new science block at Poornaprajna College, Udupi, the CM spoke about the importance of New Education Policy.

“It will provide an arragy of opportunities for the students. The new generation will get international standard education through this,” he said.

Mangaluru, Oct 13, 2021: Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai landed at Mangaluru Airport on Wednesday morning.

Power, Kannada, and Culture Minister Sunil Kumar, Mangaluru City Corporation Mayor Premananda Shetty, Deputy Commissioner Dr. Rajendra K V, MLAs Bharath Shetty, and Umanath Kotian, City Police Commissioner N Shashi Kumar, BJP Mangaluru Vibhag Prabhari Uday Kumar Shetty, , Sudhir Shetty Kannur, Coastal Development Authority Chairman Mattaru Rathnakar Hegde and others welcomed the Chief Minister.

The Chief Minister then left to Udupi. He will lay the foundation stone for the Poornaprajna Degree College building at Adamaru village in Kaup and then offer prayers at Kaup Hosa Marigudi. He will inaugurate the New Science Block building at Poorna Prajna College Udupi and then offer Bhoomi Pooja to Kuntalanagara-Madavanagara-Bantakal Road in Kaup.

After inaugurating the Community hall and Skill development center of Udupi Grameena Bantara Sangha, the Chief Minister will proceed to Mangaluru.

Bommai will offer prayers at Kudrli Sri Gokarnanatha Kshetra and then leave to Bengaluru.
