 Expert Committee recommends emergency use authorization of Covaxin for children

Bengaluru, Oct 12, 2021: The Subject Expert Committee (SEC) has submitted its recommendation to the Drugs Controller General of India (DGCI) on granting emergency use authorization to Bharat Biotech’s Covaxin for the 2-10 age group children.

The Experts noted that the two doses of Covaxin could be given to the children within a gap of 28 days, according to The Hindu report.

The Bharat Biotech had completed Phase-2 and Phase-3 trails on the 2-18 age group and submitted the trail data. The trials were done on the age groups of 2-6, 6-12, and 12-18.
