Gold worth ₹ 8.44 lakh seized at Mangaluru Airport

Mangaluru, Sept 19, 2021: Customs officials at Mangaluru International Airport seized gold worth ₹ 8.44 lakh from a passenger today.

According to officials, a passenger identified as Ummar Farooq arrived from Dubai by Air India Express flight today at 4.55 am.

The officials found 230-gram assorted jewelry of 18-carat purity gold. The total value is ₹8,44,100.
The gold was concealed inside the package of Body Lotion. A case is registered, the officials added.
