Udupi Sri Krishna Matha: Laksha Tulasi Archane on Janmastami
Udupi, Aug 27, 2021: Laksha Tulasi Archane will be offered to Udupi Sri Krishna on the occasion of Janmastami on August 30.
In the backdrop of Covid, the Krishna Jayanthi (Janmastami) celebration will be a low-key affair this year too. But all the rituals will continue as per the tradition.
Matha manager Govindraj said that on Krishna Jayanthi (Aug 30) Paryaya Peetadhipathi Sri Eeshapriya Tirtha will offer Laksha Tulasi Archane before the Mahapooje. Those who want to offer Tulasi and flowers can give them to the temple by August 29 evening.
Considering the request from the devotees, Paryaya Adamaru Matha has decided to arrange for the darshan of Sri Krishna during Krishna Jayanthi and Vittalapindi.
“Devotees have expressed their wish to have darshan of Sri Krishna on Janmashtami and Vittalapindi (the next day). The Matha has made arrangements for this. On August 30 devotees can have darshan from 8 am to 6 pm. On August 30 it will be from 7.30 am to 1 pm. After the Ratotsava the darshan will be allowed again after 5 pm,” he said.
The devotees have been asked to strictly follow Covid guidelines by maintaining social distancing and wearing the mask.
Those devotees who have the special ‘Sudarshana Entry Pass,’ are allowed entry from North and South gates. Others can have darshan through ‘Vishwapatha’.
‘Arghya,’ will be offered to Sri Krishna on August 30 after 12.30 pm in front of Kanakana Kindi and at Madhva Mantapa.
