Traffic to be allowed on Maravoor bridge from July 30

Restoration work completed

Mangaluru, July 29, 2021: With the completion of restoration work, traffic will be allowed on Maravoor bridge from Friday.

Maravoor Bridge- the vital link to Mangaluru Airport sunk in the wee hours of June 15. This had forced the authorities to announce alternate routes for people commuting towards places like Mangaluru International Airport, Kateel, and Bajpe from Mangaluru.

The district administration had taken up the restoration work on priority.

Deputy Commissioner Dr. Rajendra K V on Thursday declared that the restoration work of the bridge has been completed.

“The work is completed and it has passed the heavyweight stress test. By tomorrow afternoon it will be open for all transport vehicles,” the DC confirmed.
