Karwar Municipality says no to new petty shops
Karwar, July 16, 2021: In a major move, the Karwar Municipal Council has decided not to issue fresh permits for new hand carts and petty shops within its limits.
Municipal Commissioner R P Naik said the decision is to ensure cleanliness in the City.
The municipality has issued street vendors numbers to all the existing hand carts and petty shops in the City. They have to display the numbers issued to them. Action will be taken against those shops which operate without numbers.
The Commissioner said there is no provision for new hand carts or petty shops. If any shops are found within the city limits operating without permission or number, the Municipality will take them into its custody without issuing any intimation.
