Udupi, July 12, 2021: The kidnap case of a two and half-year-old boy in Udupi town was solved with the Police tracking the accused and the boy at Kumta railway station.

The child, son of Arun and Bharati from Mudhol stays at a shelter near Karavali Junction. On Sunday morning his neighbor Parashu from Bagalkot took the child on the pretext of taking him to a hotel. However, later both went missing.

A complaint was lodged at the Udupi town police station who immediately started a probe. The CCTV footage showed Parashu carrying the child and getting into a bus moving towards Santhekatte.

The chase for the child began. Meanwhile, Parashu took the bus and reached Bhatkal and from there he reached Murudeshwar where he boarded a train.

He got down at Kumta and was waiting for a bus to go to Haliyal when the police team found him and the child. They were escorted to Udupi.

The child has been handed over to CWC. As Parashu is said to be suffering from epilepsy symptoms he has been shifted to the government hospital in Udupi. He will be produced to the court later in the day.

Parashu hails from Bagalkot. His father was working in a factory at Dandeli. Parashu began working as a driver in a truck but as his leg was injured he quit that job.

About six months ago he was in the Udupi district prison at Hiriyadka for alleged theft of a truck. He has a case against him at Ramnagara station (Uttara Kannada).

Police are probing the exact reason for the kidnap. It is likely to be clear in a day or two after he is discharged from the hospital.
