Sahakara Bharathi lauds Prime Minister for forming Ministry of Cooperation
Mangaluru, July 08, 2021: Dakshina Kannada unit of Sahara Bharathi has lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi for forming the much-awaited Ministry of Cooperation.
“It is 117 years since the beginning of the formal cooperative movement in the country. It has reached 6.30 lakh villages in the country and contributes to 40 percent of the economy,” Sahakara Bharathi Dakshina Kannada district unit president Krishna Prasad Madthila and secretary Krishna Kompadavu said in a press statement.
“The cooperative sector has shown its presence in Industry and service sectors also. After Independence, the government should have formed a separate ministry of cooperation which it did not. “Finally the present government has fulfilled the demand and has started a Ministry of Cooperation. It has been started with the slogan “Sahakar Se Samriddhi’ aiming to take it to the grassroots level,” they added.
