Shirva, July 02, 2021: The Center for Postgraduate Studies of St. Mary’s College(MSW, M.Com), NCC, NSS, Rovers-Rangers units in association with Reliance Foundation organized Mask Distribution Campaign on July 2.

As many as 10,000 masks were distributed at places like Community Health Center, Post Office, Police Station, Jeevan Asha Old Age Home, Masjid, Temple, Church, Don Bosco and St. Mary’s educational institutions of Shirva.

Gram Panchayat President K. R. Patkar appreciated the initiative.

“The public should abide by the Covid rules and wear face mask. Appropriate action will be taken against citizens who violate the rule,” he said.

Fr Rolvin Aranha, Assistant Parish Priest, Our Lady of Health Church, Shirva stressed on wearing face masks in the right way and maintaining social distancing in the fight against Covid.

The campaign was attended by the Principal Dr Herald Ivan Monis, Panchayat Development Officer Anantha Padmanabha Nayak and Grama Panchayat member Hasanbah Sheikh.

Student Welfare Council Director Yashoda, NCC Officer Lieutenant K. Praveen Kumar, NSS Officer Premanath, Raksha, Rangers Leaders Prakash, Sangeetha Poojary, MSW Coordinator Laxmi Acharya, M. Com Coordinator Jagdeesh Acharya, Teaching and Administrative Staff, student leaders of the various units helped in distribution of masks to the public.

Dr Herald Ivan Monis, Principal of the college, proposed the vote of thanks. Laxmi Acharya welcomed the gathering and compered the programme.
