 State issues revised order on conducting weddings

Udupi, June 25, 2021: With the number of Covid cases decreasing in the state, the government has issued a revised order on conducting marriage functions.

The revised order will come into force from June 28.

In the revised order issued on June 25, the state government has allowed organizing marriages at Choultries, function halls, resorts, hotels with not more than 40 people and strictly adhering to the conditions stipulated.

Conditions:

  1. Those organizing marriages shall obtain prior permission from the concerned local authority, ie Joint Commissioner of the BBMP Zone in the BBMP area or the concerned Tahsildar at the Taluks. The concerned officer shall issue 40 passes per marriage function by name.
  2. Only people with passes shall be allowed to attend the marriage function and passes shall not be transferable.
  3. People attending the marriage function shall strictly follow Covid appropriate behavior.

The government has warned strict legal action against violators.
