Mangaluru, June 10, 2021: Mangaluru City Corporation has decided to categorize all the members of an apartment as primary contacts if a person in the building is found Covid positive.

The present positivity rate in the MCC limits is around 17%.

To contain the spread of the Covid-19, the MCC feels it necessary to increase Covid Testing in all potential contacts and cases.

“To decrease the spread of Covid cases significantly, it is imperative that Covid testing must be increased. Therefore it becomes important to subject all primary contacts to Covid testing,” Mangaluru City Corporation Commissioner said.

“Henceforth if any Covid positive case is found in a residential apartment in MCC’s jurisdiction, all the members of that apartment will be categorized as primary contacts and will have to undergo the Covid-19 test to rule out any further possible spread,” he said.

He sought complete cooperation from the Flat Owners Association and residents of such apartments.
