Walk-ins for second dose of Covaxin in Dakshina Kannada
Mangaluru, June 04, 2021: With Dakshina Kannada receiving 13,000 doses of Covaxin, the district administration has decided to allow Walk-ins for those who are awaiting second dose from Monday.
“As many as 35,000 people had taken the first dose of Covaxin and about 20,000 have taken the second shot. The remaining 15,000 can make use of this vaccine facility that will be available at all the taluk hospitals and District Wenlock Hospital from Monday,” Deputy Commissioner Dr. Rajendra K V told reporters.
He said the health department was contacting all those who have not received the second dose.
Meanwhile, the district administration has decided to reserve 25 percent of the Covishield vaccines for the 70+ age group who are unable to book online. They can take vaccination through walk-ins.
The special vaccination drive for the employees and students going abroad will be conducted on Sunday at Canara Girls High School, Dongerkeri.
About 600 have applied to the district administration and 500 who confirm their presence will be provided the vaccine.
