Covid-19: Karnataka Govt fixes rates for private ambulances
Bengaluru, May 21, 2021: The state government has fixed the rate for private ambulances providing service during Covid-19.
The state government decided to cap the ambulance charges after it received complaints regarding exorbitant fee collected by ambulance operators.
The government order has fixed ₹ 1,500 per call up to 10 km as the maximum rate (including oxygen, ambulance equipment, PPE kit, gloves, mask shield, sanitization, driver, EMT, etc) for the Patient Transport Ambulance (PTA). They can charge ₹ 120 for extra km above 10 km. The waiting charge per hour or part thereof will be ₹ 200.
For Basic Life Support Ambulance it will be ₹ 2,000 per call up to 10 km and ₹ 120 per extra km above 10 km. The waiting charge will be ₹ 250.
