Case filed against a Doctor for violating COVID norms
Mangaluru, May 19, 2021: A case is registered against Dr. Srinivasa Kakkillayya for not wearing a face mask at a Supermarket today.
Mangaluru City Police Commissioner N Shashi Kumar said that based on the video clippings and the complaint filed by the Super Market against Kakkillayya for not wearing a face mask.
He has been asked to appear before the Investigating Officer and give his explanation.
The video footage of Dr. Kakkillayya had gone viral on Wednesday morning where he was seen not wearing a face mask at a Supermarket at Kadri. When the staff asked him to wear a mask and also volunteered to give him one, Dr. Kakkillayya was heard denying to wear and arguing.
The video had gone viral and attracted the anger of the people.
The partner of the Supermarket had complained to the police. A case under IPC Section 4, 5, and 9 of the Karnataka Epidemic Diseases Act is registered at Kadri Police Station.
