Udupi gets oxygen supply from Davangere
Udupi, May 04, 2021: In a major relief Udupi district received emergency oxygen supply from Davangere today.
Sources in the district administration told the Canara Post said that the district was on the verge of facing a shortage of oxygen on Tuesday. District Incharge Minister Basavaraj Bommai, MLA Raghupathi Bhat, and other leaders tried their best to get oxygen and finally managed to get one from Davangere.
One more tanker is likely to reach Udupi in a day or two. Sources said that the supply from Davangere was shared between Udupi and DK.
With the availability of oxygen from Davangere and Ballary, the Udupi district is said to be having a supply of about a week now. More supplies are likely to arrive by then.
Udupi district hospital will also have an Oxygen production unit of its own shortly.
Udupi MLA Raghupathy Bhat visited the spot today in connection to this.
“The work will start in a day or two and the civil work is likely to be completed within two weeks after commencement of the work. We are sure of getting all the machineries quickly. Once completed the output will be 102 cylinders per day,” Raghupathi Bhat said.
