Karwar, April 16, 2021: Specialist divers from INS Nireekshak who reached the wreck of sunk Fishing Vessel, recovered three bodies on April 16. 

The ship, heading to New Mangalore, is expected to reach the harbour by midnight for handing over the bodies to civil authorities for identification and further formalities, officials said.

On completion, it will to head back to continue the search for other missing fishermen.

Nine fishermen went missing at sea about 40 nautical miles west of New Mangalore on April 13 after collision of their boat, IFB Rabah with a merchant ship.

INS Nireekshak  is part of the naval assets deployed in augmenting Search and Rescue (SAR) efforts associated with the incident.
