Follow guidelines to avoid Lockdown: Kota
Mangaluru, March 27, 2021: Dakshina Kannada district in-charge minister Kota Srinivas Poojary has asked the people to follow COVID guidelines and avoid the possibility of Lockdown.
In a press communique, the minister has raised his concern over the increase in COVID cases and asked the senior citizens and people above 45 years with comorbidity to get themselves vaccinated.
“COVID vaccination is being distributed in the district. At the District Wenlock Hospital, the vaccination is provided on all seven days a week from 10 am to 4 pm (On Sundays it is till 1 pm). At all the Taluk Hospitals and six Community Health Centers in the district except on Sundays, the vaccine is provided on all the six days,” he said in a press statement.
“Vaccine is given on Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturdays at the 78 Primary Health Centers including Urban Areas from 10 am to 4 pm. Apart from this 33 private hospitals and nursing homes including eight medical colleges are involved in this drive,” he said.
While the vaccination at government hospitals, PHCs, and CHCs are free, private hospitals and nursing homes provide vaccination at ₹ 250 per dose.
At present vaccine is provided to senior citizens and those above 45 years with comorbidity. From April 1, the government will provide vaccines to all above 45 years.
“I request people to follow the COVID norms like wearing the mask, maintaining social distance, and cleanliness. COVID guidelines should be compulsorily followed in all the functions and meetings. Following COVID norms are the only solution to evade the possibility of Lockdown,” he added.
