12 KVPY All India ranks to Expert
Mangaluru, March 17, 2021: Twelve students from Expert PU College, Mangaluru have been qualified for the final round of ‘Kishore Vygnanic Protsahan Yojan’ fellowship examination 2021 with Raj Aniketh Reddy V.S. from Bangalore of the college securing 29th All India Rank.
In the KVPY examination conducted by the Indian Institute of Science, Reetham B from Kolar secured 295th All India Rank, Ashwini K from Kundapur got 924th rank and Thejas from Mangalore secured 981st rank.
While Chiranth K V from Koppa secured 1060th rank, Thanush Gowda V from Bangalore got 1202nd rank. Vibha Parameshwar Hegde from Sirsi stood 1266th Rank and Akhil S from Kokkarne got 1340th rank.
Chinmaye N from Mysore secured 1445th rank, Richa Sanjeev Deshpande from Dharwad got 1644th rank and both Sanjana Kamath Panchmal from Mangalore and Isha Hanumaraddy Koti from Ranebennur 1692nd rank.
Due to prevailing Covid 19 pandemic situation KVPY 2020 was held in January, 2021 . The selected students will get a scholarship of ₹ 80,000 to ₹ 1,12,000 per year.
The Science and Technology Dept of the Government of India started Kishore Vygnanic Protsahan Yojan in 1999 with a view to promote students’ interest in basic sciences. The programme involves identifying talented students and making them pursue higher studies and research in basic sciences by lending scholarship for 5 years.
These students are eligible to study in the prestigious Institutions such as Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, Indian Research Institute for Science Education and Research, etc.
