Mangaluru Police crack the whip on drug peddlers
Cases filed between Feb 3 and 7
Mangaluru, Feb 08, 2021: Mangaluru City Police have booked 72 cases related to NDPS (The Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances) in a span of five days between Feb 3 and 7.
“In a weekend NDPS drive, a total of 72 cases have been filed. This includes 10 cases on peddlers and 62 consumers. Ganja and MDMA have been seized. Drive on drugs will continue,” Police Commissioner N Shashi Kumar told reporters.
The total amount of Ganja seized is 3,688 grams. About 2.15 grams of MDMA has been seized.
North Police station seized the highest quantity of ganja (2,220 grams) and booked 3 case against peddlers and 3 cases on consumers.
Kankanady police seized 2.15 grams of MDMA and have booked 6 cases on consumers and 1 peddler. The highest number of cases was in Ullal. All there are on consumers.
