Kara Seva at Paniyadi Temple
Udupi, Jan 24, 2021: Villagers of Paniyadi enthusiastically participated in the ‘Kara Seva,’ held to undertake the works related to the renovation of Sri Lakshmi Ananthapadmanabha Temple on Sunday.
The ancient temple of Sri Ananthapadmanabha, which has a history of several centuries, is managed by Sri Puthige Matha.
Sri Sugunendra Tirtha Sripadaru of Puthige Matha desired to dedicate a new temple to Sri Ananthapadmanabha Swami with the participation of the villagers.
While Shilamuhurtha was held on Nov 27, the deity was shifted to ‘Balalaya,’ (temporary room) on Jan 18.
As the old building has to be removed to make a place for the new one, the villagers gathered in large numbers to offer their service in the form of ‘Kara Seva.’
On Sunday they removed the roof tiles, wooden materials, cleaned the premises, and piled-up the old materials.
Puthige Matha Diwan Nagaraj Acharya supervised the work and provided necessary directions.
