Last minute rush: Two lakh IT Returns in an hour
New Delhi, Jan 10, 2021: You are not the only person to file IT returns at the last moment! Yes, according to the Income Tax department, a total of 13,29,317 Income Tax Returns (ITR) were filed till 4 pm today.
According to the tweet at 4.48 pm 2,07,108 Income Tax Returns (ITR) were filed in the last one hour!
While the last date for ITR was on December 31, the Union Government had extended it by ten days to Jan 10 (today).
Though many file the ITR in advance, a good number of them keep it for the last hour, and the IT department’s data proves this.
