Karwar, Jan 01, 2021: Enthusiasm among students and the confidence of the parents resulted in a good turnout of students in Uttara Kannada district today.

Regular classes for 10th and Second PUC started today. The Vidyagama programme for the 6th to 9th students also has resumed.

With 12 taluks, Uttara Kannada district is one of the biggest districts in the state. The district is divided into two educational districts- Karwar and Sirsi. Many remote villages still do not have proper connectivity. But the district has always been one of the top districts in the education field.

The students and parents showed their enthusiasm in education and confidence in the district administration again today with a good turnout.

About 66.70 percent of students attended the education activities that started today.

“In Sirsi Education district out of 10,677 students 6,824 have attended classes. In Karwar district 6,624 were present out of 9,482,” Zilla Panchayat CEO Priyanga M said.

The district also recorded good attendance in II PUC.

“Of the 13,459 students, 5,987 attended classes today. All the students who submitted a permission letter have not attended classes today. Also as hostels are not yet open the number of PUC students attending classes is less,” she added.

The CEO said that all precautionary safety measures have been taken in all the schools.
