Udupi, Dec 23, 2020: The state government has issued a detailed guidelines related to night curfew.

Though earlier in the day the Chief Minister had declared to impose night curfew from tonight, it has been postponed by one day. The order states that the night curfew will come to effect from December 24.

As it is necessary to take additional containment measures to combat the spread of new variant of SARS-CoV 2, the Chief Secretary of the state in the capacity of Chairman, State Executive Committee, has declared night curfew from 11.00 m to 5.00 am stating from December 24 till 5 am of January 2.

Guidelines:

  • The movement of individuals shall remain strictly prohibited between 11 pm to 5 am except for essential activities.
  • There shall be no restriction in movement of all types of goods through trucks, goods vehicle or any goods carriers, including empty vehicles.
  • All industries/companies/organizations which requires operations at night shall be permitted to operate with 50% staff. Movement of employees of such organization shall be allowed on producing valid ID card issued by their respective Organization/lnstitution.
  • Industries/factories which requires 24/7 operations will be allowed to operate without any restrictions.
  • Movement of long distance night bus, train services and air services are permitted.
  • To and fro movement of taxis and auto are permitted for dropping/pickup of people to/from bus stops/railway stations/Airports. The movement will be allowed on displaying valid tickets.
  • Midnight Christmas Mass on 24th night shall be permitted as per guidelines issued on 17/12/2020.
  • Celebration of Christmas and New Year festivities shall be as per the guidelines issued vide Order No RD 465 TNR 2020, dated 17-12-2020.

Nigh Curfew in Karnataka from today

Bengaluru, Dec 23, 2020: Karnataka state has imposed Night curfew from today till January 2, 2021.

The night curfew will be between 10 pm and 6 am.

There will be a ban on all types of functions and events after 10 pm. However Christmas celebration would be allowed on December 25.

The state government has already imposed various restrictions on Christmas and New Year celebration. However now with the mutant COVID virus being found in United Kingom, the state government has imposed night curfew.
