New Delhi, Dec 16, 2020: Vijay Diwas (Victory Day) is commemorated on December 16 every year in India to observe India’s victory over Pakistan.

India had defeated Pak in the 1971 war. The war had resulted in the liberation of Bangladesh (East Pakistan) from Pakistan.

It was on this day Chief of Pakistan Forces Gen Amir Abdullah Khan Niazi with his troops surrendered to Genral Jagjit Singh Aurora of India.
