Attack on Head Constable: Special team formed
Mangaluru, Dec 16, 2020: A special team has been formed to trace and arrest the two accused of attacking a Police Head Constable on Wednesday.
Case details:
On December 16 at 11.30 am Ganesh Kamath, a Police Constable attached to Mangaluru North Police Station was on checkpoint duty near Chithra Junction near Car street.
Two unknown persons came in a scooter from Alake. The rider of the vehicle dropped the pillion rider near the place where Kamath was standing.
Suddenly for no reason, the pillion rider attacked Ganesh Kamath intending to harm him. The attacker immediately fled from the spot.
The police Head Constable sustained injuries on his right hand.
Mangaluru East Police have booked a case under IPC Section 332 (Hurting a public servant discharging his duty), 353 (Assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of his duty), 307 (attempt to murder) read with 34 (common intension).
Police have identified the two accused and are searching for them. A special team has been formed to trace and arrest them.
