Udupi, Nov 16: Tulasi Pooja began at Udupi Sri Krishna Matha on Monday. Paryaya Peetadhipathi Sri Eeshapriya Teertha Sripadaru and Sri Vishwaprasanna Teertha Sripadaru of Pejawara Matha offered Pooja.

Tulasi Pooja begins on Deepavali Padya and is held daily night till Prabodhini Ekadashi (in Karthika Masa).

After the Pooja is offered by the Paryaya Peetadhipathi, devotees and Matha staff sing Sankeerthane (songs) composed by Sri Vadiraja Sripadaru of Sode Matha and dance in the Matha premises.

On the 12th day- Utthana Dwadashi, the grand Tulasi Pooja is held along with ‘Ksheerabdhi,’ marking the waking up of Lord Vishnu from Yoga Nidra.
