Udupi gears up for ‘Nityotsavam,’
Udupi, Nov 13: Udupi Sri Krishna Matha is gearing up for the festive season as ‘Nityotsava,’ (Daily Utsavam) will start in just two weeks.
As per the tradition in Udupi, daily Utsavam is offered to Sri Krishna for about eight months from Utthana Dwadashi to Bhagirathi Jayanthi (Usually between November and June). There is no utsavam in the remaining months, during the rainy season.
While Nityotsava starts after Utthana Dwadashi, the grand celebration is during the ‘Saptotsava,’ during Makara Sankranthi (in January).
Utthana Dwadashi is just two weeks away and Matha is gearing up for the season of Nityotsava. The painting and repair works of the chariots (Ratha) are nearing completion.
International fame artist Purushotham Adve is giving the final touch for the paintings that will be put on the Chariot.
Paryaya Peetadhipathi Sri Eesha Priya Teertha Sripadaru today had a look at these paintings and appreciated the work of Adve.
Manager Govindaraj, Rohith Tantri accompanied the seer.
