Pejawara seer hands over Mahabharata volumes to Parliament library
Udupi, Nov 10: The Parliament library has got an invaluable collection of the Mahabharata. Sri Vishwaprasanna Teertha Sripadaru, the Pejawara Matha Peetadhipathi handed over the Mahabharata- in 24 volumes to Parliament Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi at Delhi on Tuesday.
“The revised edition of Mahabharata in Samskrtha was published last year by Tathva Samshodhana Samsath of Sri Palimaru Matha. The book was released in the presence of various Madhva Peetadhipathis including Sri Vishwesha Teertha Swamiji of Sri Pejawara Matha,” Vasudeva Bhat, a scholar and activist said.
Bhat facilitated the handing over the Mahabharatha book to Joshi.
This revised edition was published after a gap of about 100 years.
Vishnumurthy Acharya, Anantha GA, Krishna Bhat of Pejawara Matha, Matha’s Delhi branch manager Deviprasad Bhat were present.
Sripadaru also met Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and blessed her with two Udupi handloom sarees on the occasion of Deepavali.
