Prof highlights career scope in MLIS

Mangaluru, Nov 09: For those who would like to try something different in career, the Masters in Library and Information Science (MLIS) provides a good option.

Mangaluru University has started admission for the MLIS course and the last date to apply is Nov 16.

Giving details about the course and the career scope it offers, Head of the Department Prof D Shivalingaiah said that any degree holder from a recognized university can apply. The course has 38 seats.

“There is a good opportunity for those who have done this course, but not many know about it. The department provides all facilities to the students. Most of the subjects are related to Computers and ICT,” he said.

“Students who have done this degree are serving institutions like British Library, Infosys, and also serving in Australia, Singapore, and the Gulf. Apart from this many are serving as librarians, Professors, and Assistant Professors,” he added.
