Cabinet nod tomorrow for Udupi district hospital upgradation: Raghupathi Bhat
Udupi, Oct 21: Udupi MLA Raghupathi Bhat has thanked Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa and the cabinet for taking up the agenda of upgrading Udupi district hospital in tomorrow’s cabinet meeting.
“The demand to upgrade the district hospital is pending since the formation of Udupi district in 1997. We are were happy that the agenda of upgrading the hospital will be placed for approval during tomorrow’s cabinet meeting,” Raghupathi Bhat said.
“During my last term as MLA I had tried, but the proposal was turned down by the finance department then. I took up the issue again in the assembly. During the budget reply, the Chief Minister assured to do the needful. Now the agenda is scheduled to pass in tomorrow’s cabinet meeting. Approval will include ₹115 crores for infrastructure and assets and also money for the 250 bed hospital staff,” he said.
“Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa will always be remembered by the people of Udupi district. He had granted the Deputy Commissioner’s office and now will be responsible for the upgradation of district hospital,” he added.
He also thanked former health minister B Sriramulu and the present health minister Sudhakar and also all the officials.
