Udupi, Oct 19: The Shirva police rescued three cattle that were being illegally transported cruelly in a Bolero Pickup.

Police said that Shriva Police SI Shrishail D M received information of illegal cattle transport near Kalattur Janatha Colony. The SI along with his team immediately rushed to the spot. Three people who were inside identified as Moideen, Kabeer, and Siddiq who noted the police chasing them, immediately stopped the vehicle and fled from the place.

The police found three cattle including two calves which were tied cruelly.
Shirva Police have registered a case under IPC Section 279, 398, Section 8, 9 and 11 of The Karnataka Prevention of Cow Slaughter and Cattle Preservation Act, Section 11 (1)(D) of Animal Cruelty act and also Section 192 (A) of Indian Motor Vehicle Act.
