Piyush Goyal assigned additional charge of Consumer affairs

New Delhi, October 09: Minister Piyush Goyal has been assigned additional charge of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution.

Following Ramvilas Paswan’s death on Thursday night the portfolio has been assiagned to Piyush Goyal, who is presently the Minister of Railways and Commerce & Industries.

“The President of India, as advised by the Prime Minister, has directed that Piyush Goyal, Cabinet Minister, be assigned the charge of the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, in addition to his existing portfolios,” an official communique from President’s secretariat stated.
