Mangaluru, Sep 28: Following fire onboard container vessel X-press Godavari anchorage off Sandheads, West Bengal Indian Coast Guard Ships Amogh and ICGS Amrit Kaur have commenced boundary cooling.

ICGS Varad with specialized External Firefighting System arriving by 4.30 pm. Dornier aircraft has been placed in area.

Coast Guard officials said that sustained firefighting efforts of ICG ships has ensured dousing of the fire. Continuous boundary cooling is being done to prevent reignition. ICG ships are monitoring situation.

Mangaluru, Sep 28: Container vessel X-press Godavari anchorage off Sandheads, West Bengal reported fire onboard. Fifteen crew are onboard the ship.

Indian Coast Guard officials said that ICS Amogh and CG Dornier are in the area for necessary help and ICGS Amrit Kaur and Varad are proceeding to area. Firefighting has commenced.

The last port of the ship was Kelang, Malaysia and Next port is Kolkatta.
