Srinivas University acquires aircraft for engineering course
Mangalore, Sep 24: The Srinivas University in Mangaluru has acquired aircraft to teach the students of Aircraft Maintenance Engineering.
It is the first and only state private University in South Karnataka to have this. The University has launched Aviation Studies programmes under its College of Aviation Studies.
The Cessna Aircraft and a Helicopter is already delivered to the campus while another 10 seater Lear jet aircraft will be inducted soon.
Chancellor of the University A Raghavendra Rao along with the Pro-Chancellor, Dr. A. Srinivas Rao received the Keys of the aircraft.
Speaking on the occasion, Raghavendra Rao said that the University is committed to become a leading source of skilled manpower for the Airlines Industry which is bound to grow in the coming decades.
He also said that a new flight simulator will also be installed on the campus to provide pilot license training to the students who are interested in becoming pilots.
The University is offering programmes in
i. Aircraft Maintenance Engineering (B.Sc/B.Tech)
ii. Piolet Training
To give good exposure to the students the University has tied up with the MH cockpit and also has the services of leading aircraft engineers who have put in more than 3 decades of service and are empanelled by DGCA.
