Anna Bhagya rice seized
Udupi, Sep 15: Officials have seized 300 kg Anna Bhagya rice which was being transported illegally.
On Monday Food inspector H S Suresh received information from the Kundapur police station about rice being transported illegally. The officer along with police officials found a Tata Ace vehicle parked at Kharvikeri Ring Road.
The team found 300 kg Anna Bhagya rice packed in 8 bags which was being illegally transported to be sold at a higher price. The driver had fled from the spot.
Based on the vehicle number, the officials found it to be belonging to one Krishna Kharvi of Kharvikeri, Kundapur.
A case is registered at Kundapur police station. The vehicle and the rice have been seized.
