Uttara Kannada records 131 COVID cases

Karwar, Aug 19: Uttara Kannada saw an increase in the COVID cases on Wednesday. According to the health bulletin, the district recorded 131 new cases and one death today.

Mundgod recorded the highest number of cases (33), followed by Haliyal (22), Yellapura: 18), Sirsi (13), Ankola (13), Bhatkala (12) Kumta (6), Honnavar (6), Siddapura (5), Karwar (2) and Joida (1).

A death was recorded in Ankola. Meanwhile 133 were discharged after treatment today. 

Of the total 3,579 cases recorded in the district, 879 are active and 2,666 discharged. The district has recorded 35 deaths to date.
