 COVID-19: Cases cross 200 in Dakshina Kannada on Thursday

Mangaluru, July 23: With 218 cases on Thursday, Dakshina Kannada again witnessed an increase in the number. District also recorded 7 deaths. 
The total cases in the district are now 4,214 of which 2,253 are active. Till date 1,862 have been discharged of which 118 were discharged on Thursday.

Deaths: 
1. 36-year-old person from Davangere was admitted to a private hospital on July 16 and died on July 22. He was suffering from septic shock, acute liver injury, acute kidney injury, and other health ailments.
2. 69-year-old person from Bhatkal who was admitted to a private hospital on July 7 died on July 22. He was suffering from cancer, heart-related problems, and other ailments.
3. 52-year-old person from Palakkad was admitted to a private hospital on July 19 and died on July 22. He had various health issues.
4. 83-year-old person from Mangaluru was admitted to Wenlock Hospital and died on July 22. He was BP, heart-related problems, and pneumonia.
5. 73-year-old person from Mangaluru was admitted to a private hospital on July 21 and died on July 22. He had diabetes mellitus, heart issues, and other health problems. 
6. 58-year woman was admitted to a private hospital on July 11 and died on July 22. She had type 2 diabetes mellitus, hypertension.
7. 52-year-old person from Bantwal was admitted to a private hospital on July 21 and died on July 22. He had heart-related issues and other health ailments.
All the seven were tested COVID positive.
