 COVID-19: 149 new cases in Dakshina Kannada

Mangaluru, July 21: Dakshina Kannada district recorded 149 new cases on Tuesday increasing the total number to 3,834.
The district has 2,070 active cases. After treatment 1,675 have been discharged from hospitals. On Tuesday 127 were discharged after treatment.
Of the 149 cases on Tuesday, 67 had influenza-like illness, 22 had a respiratory infection, 23 are primary contacts, and one who returned from abroad. The source of 15 patients is yet to be traced.

Deaths: 
1. 81-year-old person from Mangaluru was admitted to a private hospital on July 17 with breathing problem. He died on  July 20. 
2. 51-year-old person from Belthangady was admitted to hospital on June 20. After one month of treatment, he died on July 20. He was suffering from lungs, BP, and diabetes.
3. 65-year-old person from Bhatkal was admitted to a private hospital on July 12. He died on July 20. 
4. 63-year-old person from Haveri district was admitted to hospital on June 27. After being treated for about one month he died on June 20. He had acute chronic kidney disease and cancer. 
5. 52-year-old woman from Mangaluru was admitted to a private hospital on July 19 and died on July 20. She had Rheumatic Heart disease, hypertension diabetes.
All the five were tested COVID  positive.
